About Us

Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Devasthanam, was started in 2007 and run by a non-profit organization “VEDA” (Vedic Education and Devotional Academy). In a short span of over 3 years, we purchased a permanent building for the temple at Milpitas and began operations on the auspicious day of 3rd July, 2010.

Since the beginning of the temple at the new premises, we have organized various Hindu religious activities like Festivals, Vedic rituals, spiritual and cultural events. We conduct group Satynarayana Vratams at our temple on every Full-moon day. All Hindu religious festivals are celebrated and large number of devotees participate regularly. The highlight event of last year was Samuhika Satyanarayana Swamy vratam performed by Annavaram priests by bringing the divine idols from Annaavaram, A.P, India. This event was a huge success with large participation of devotees with a great enthusiasm and bhakti from all parts of the Bay area.

Other religious and spiritual events include performances by various eminent leaders - Sri Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma and Sri Viswamji, renowned musicians - Dr. Shobha Raj, Rama Chari, Malladi brothers and Alka Bhatnagar, and great poets like Jonnavittula Ramlingeswara Rao, Dr. Akkiraju Sundara Ramakrishna, Tanikella Bharani, Dr. Vaddiparthi Padamakar, Kurthalam Peetadipathi. Further, the temple has played host to several Bay area cultural organizations for their cultural events. In order to spread Indian culture, traditions and spiritual values, temple conducts Veda classes and other spiritual events for all age groups in the temple premises. As such the temple has been recognized as a cultural hub for the Indian Community.

Future Plans:

We have achieved a lot with the help of the devotees in a short span and lot more needs to be done to develop the temple into a Punya Kshetram. Our next major task is to expand two adjacent buildings for spiritual, cultural and community activities.
