  3 days Deeksha Program Details:

Deeksha Vastras will be provided to sponsors at the temple from 11.00am Thursday, Feb 18th on wards. Deeksha involves only sponsored couples and will be provided with one set (1 saree and 1 dhoti) per sponsor. Kids do not need to be involved in the Deeksha program. Deeksha vastras should be collected one hour before program start time.

Instructions: Deeksha vastras are required when participating in interested Deeksha session. Participation is encouraged in at least one of the Deeksha programs on Thursday evening, Friday morning or evening.

Day 1- Thursday, Feb 18 (Morning)
9:00am- 1:00pm: Kanyaka Parameswari Punah- Pranaprathistha(Reconsecration)

Day 1 - Thursday, Feb 18 (Evening)
KumbhabhishekamDeeksha starts at 4pm
5:00pm- 9:00pm: Ganapathi Pooja, Maha Sankalpam, Deekshaa Dhaarana, Ankuraropana
Day 2 - Friday, Feb 19 (Morning)
9:00am – 1:00pm: Sarvatho Bhadra Mantapa Aradhana, Agni Prathisthapana and
Adhivaasam for all Kalashas, Moola Mantra Homam for all deities

Day 2- Friday, Feb 19 (Evening)
5:00pm - 9:00pm: Adhivaasam for all Kalashas, Moola Mantra Homam for all deities
Day 3 - Saturday, Feb 20 (Morning)
8:40am – 9:00am: Sumuhurtam (Meena Lagnam) - KalashaPrathishta for all sikharams
10:00am – 12:00noon: Kalaa Homam, Sarvatobhadra Mantra Homam
12:00 noon: Purnaahuti, followed by AvabhRtha snanam

***Kumbhabhishekam Deeksha ends ***

1:00 pm: Felicitation for all Priests, Volunteer appreciation followed by Vedaashirvachanam by all priests.

Day 3- Saturday, Feb 20 (Evening)
4:30 pm – 6:30 pm: Shanti Kalyanam for Lord Shiva and Parvathi

  Instructions to be followed very strictly while observing Deeksha period:


  • Maintain a satvik diet
  • Maintain principles of abstinence
  • Wear the Deeksha Vastras (clothes) at all times while at the temple
  • Maintain positive thoughts at all times
  • Focus on the deity and chant any slokam and/or mantramthat you know while seated at the homam
  • Wash your hands and feet if you need to use restroom during the Deeksha
  • Wear clean and washed clothes when arriving at the temple to receive the Deeksha Vastras (clothes)
  • Remove and preserve the Deeksha Vastras at the temple and change into your regular attire before leaving for home


  • Include onion and/or garlic in any food preparations
  • Eat any non-vegetarian food
  • Smoke or drink alcohol
  • Mingle with people not in Deeksha (children are exception) at the temple while wearing the Deeksha Vastras
